About Us

Credit Union of the Rockies is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution that provides financial services to people who have a common bond through occupation, association or community.

Credit Union of the Rockies was established in 1937 to service the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Denver. Over the years, membership in Golden grew and through that growth the Credit Union was able to broaden their charter to include all residents of Golden and their families as well as all those working in Golden.

After building membership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s office in Silverthorne, the need to open a branch in Summit County was apparent. Our Frisco office not only enhanced services to those members already belonging to the credit union; it also enabled us to provide an alternative to other residents to meet their financial needs.

In 2006, Credit Union of the Rockies was made aware of the need for a financial institution in Gilpin County. Again, in an effort to broaden our membership base, serve those living in mountain communities, and with the help and support of the City of Blackhawk the Black Hawk branch was opened in June, 2006.

Credit Union of the Rockies will continue striving to broaden our membership while maintaining the level of service that our members deserve. Our goal remains to be in touch with all of our member’s financial needs.
